    Chilling and effective. I live here and I hadn’t seen this one in my walks around town nor in the Times. It isn’t even the American Embassy, (there are bunker-like U.S. embassies in many countries now) but the US mission to the UN! Not only can’t we see in but photographers of these structures risk being stopped for photographing them these days.. Something about national security….What a Cowardly New World we live in.

    Thanks for the striking photo and provocative commentary. What makes it all the more frightening is that our leaders are merely us under other circumstances. From whence comes the ability to change what lies within us all?
